The annual NY2LA Sports Futures Camp hit the courts in Wisconsin this past Saturday and it did not disappoint.  Filled with rosters of talented up and coming prospects the annual exposure platform offered up a glimpse into the future as some of the top hoops prodigies in the Midwest.  Here’s a look at the top 10 overall performances in terms of Floor Impact from this past weekend…

(1)  Tyrese Hunter – 2021 – PG – Racine St. Catherines (WI) – FIPG 32.7
Athletic, explosive, and dominant, Hunter saved his best performance of the day for the final game where he erupted for 35 points 6 rebounds and 4 assists.  He took home Co-MVP honors for the 2021 class along with Amar Augillard (see below) and he was electric and impressive in all facets.  

(2)  Amar Augillard – 2021 – F – Zion-Benton (IL) – FIPG 26.3
A tough physical forward who can score at multiple levels and dominate in the same fashion from multiple areas on the court, Augillard was virtually unstoppable scoring the basketball on Saturday and he showed athleticism, instincts, and feel as well.  A 26 point effort in the second round of games was his tops on the day.  

(3)  Danilo Jovanovich – 2022 – G/F – Whitnall (WI) – FIPG 25
A smooth fill the box score score from anywhere wing, Jovanovich did a little of everything on both ends of the court and he did it all well and in consistently dominant fashion.  A 27 point 6 rebound 4 steal 4 block performance in the second round of games was his top effort of the day. 
 
(4)  Chevalier Emery – 2022 – PG – Neenah (WI) – FIPG 22
He continues to get better and on Saturday he really delivered a quality overall effort filled with scoring, playmaking, and hustle.  A 17 point 6 rebound 6 assist effort in the opening game set the tone for a quality day for the young sophomore guard.  

(5)  Connor Essegian – 2022 – SG – Central Noble (IN) – FIPG 21.3
One of the breakout performers this past weekend, Essegian was exceptional and consistent from start to finish.  He can do a little of everything and he scores at every level.  Very impressive performances throughout the day with his best coming in the second round of games where he score 18 points grabbed 5 rebounds and kicked out 2 assists.  

(6)  Najashi Tolefree – 2022 – F – West Allis Central (WI) – FIPG 21
One of the up and coming sophomores in Wisconsin, Tolefree saved his best for last as he closed with a 12 point 11 rebound 4 assist effort in the final game.  He’s at his best when active and disruptive on both ends of the court and he has the ability to contribute from multiple levels in quality fashion.

(7 Tied)  John Lovelace Jr. – 2021 – F – Wauwatosa East (WI) – FIPG 19.3 
A high flying open court player who doubles as a lock down defender when engaged, Lovelace continued to impress throughout the day on Saturday.  A 21 point 4 assists 2 rebound 2 steal effort in the final round of games Saturday capped off a stellar day for the fast rising and super athletic junior.

(7 Tied)  Steven Clay – 2022 – G/F – Menomonee Falls (WI) – FIPG 19.3
He was active and solid throughout the day and he displayed his slashing ability and defensive instincts game in and game out.  A 17 point 5 rebound 2 assist performance in the final round of games was his best overall effort of the day.

(9 Tied)  Alex Singleton – 2021 – PF – Wauwatosa East (WI) – FIPG 19
One of those blue collar do everything fill the box score types, Singleton was solid again on Saturday and he impressed with his activity and energy along with his overall ability to play the game.  A 14 point 6 rebound effort in the opening game set the tone but virtually every game he played the numbers were nearly the same and he had a high caliber overall day on Saturday.

(9 Tied)  Simeon Murchinson – 2023 – C – Mil Bay View (WI) – FIPG 19
One of the prized up and coming young prospects in Wisconsin, Murchinson had a slow opening game but he turned it around in games 2 and 3 with his top effort coming in the final one at 20 points and 7 rebounds.  He displayed activity and an ability to impact the game consistently and in a variety of ways.  An excellent day of work for the up young freshman.
