The 15U level was one of the more competitive groups at this weekend’s NY2LA Sports Invitational. With many high caliber teams there were plenty of high-level games and stellar performances. Here are some of the players that had the best weekends in Wisconsin.
Kobe Brown – 2025 – SF – All Ohio Cleveland
Brown is a tough and very productive forward. In the one game I caught of his he scored an impressive 21 points. Not only did he score it strong in traffic inside, but he also shoots it well from the outside and can attack the basket. He plays with good energy and is very active defensively as well as on the glass.
Cale Buboltz – 2025 – PG – Lakeshore Force
Buboltz had some very impressive games in helping Lakeshore Force knock off a couple good teams Sunday to advance to the quarterfinals. Not only is he a smart guard but he has a very good scoring ability. He has a smooth jumper and was shooting it very well spotting up from three plus showed good shot selection. Much more that a shooter however, he moves well with the ball in his hands to get score at the basket as well to create for his teammates as he made several tremendous passes.
Will Garlock – 2025 – PF – Wisconsin Swing
Garlock continues to be one of the more dominant post in the area. At 6’8” with his strength, Garlock can just be unstoppable at the 15U level. He already scores the ball exceptionally well playing with his back to the basket but was also reading the floor and passing it well out of the post. He has some agility for his size and showed the ability to put the ball on the floor too this weekend.
Pryce Gregoire – 2025 – F – Wisconsin Blizzard
The 6’5” forward was one of the top players at the 15U level with a huge weekend for himself and a big reason why his Blizzard team was able to advance all the way to the championship game. He is a very impactful player that provided so much for his team game after game. A versatile scorer that did it well spotting up from three, going to the basket, and down in the paint but was also key with his defensive play down inside. He scored it consistently over the weekend including a 29-point performance.
Nick Keyser – 2025 – G – Wisconsin Hoops Select
Over the course of the tournament Keyser has multiple big games showing a nice ability to both score and distribute the basketball. He handles the ball well and has nice moves to do most of his scoring attacking the basket as he was continuously getting into the paint. Keyser sees the floor well on the move and showed good passing ability dishing it out with pinpoint passes.
Isaiah Mellock – 2025 – G – MTXE
Mellock has continued to impress this spring and was a big reason why MTXE advanced to the quarterfinals with his play on both ends. He is an incredibly active defender, coming up with steals and deflections, and going hard for loose balls. Offensively, he scored it well with primarily with his jumper. Mellock shot it well pulling up in the mid-range and spotting up for three but is also quick with the ball attacking the basket.
Xzavion Mitchell – 2025 – SF – Phenom University
Mitchell was the most dominant player at the 15U level leading Phenom to the championship continuing his tremendous spring. He has some size at 6’7” plus good abilities scoring ability. Not only can he score it down in the post but was most effective all weekend as a slasher. This included a 33-point outing in bracket play on Sunday.
Lemetrius Williams – 2025 – SG – 94 Feet Elite
The 6’4” wing guard has continued to shine this spring with all his abilities on the floor. Not only does he have good athleticism but also plays well with the ball in his hands. He is a strong attacking guard that is incredibly tough to stop once he gets going downhill to the basket. The freshman also possesses a good ability on the defensive on the perimeter to shut down guards and wings with all his physical abilities and style of play.
Luke Westerdale – 2025 – SG – The Academy
It was another impressive tournament for The Academy 15U squad defeating the eventually champions Phenom to start the tournament on Friday and making it to the semifinals on Sunday and a big reason for this was Westerdale. He is such a skilled scorer proving that with an efficient 21-point game on Sunday. Not only does he shoot it very well from the outside but is also very tough to defend on the attack. He has great moves off the dribble and gets to the basket with ease in transition and in the half court. A crafty guard that reads the floor well and has a great change of speed and direction ability.
