The Grassroots Showcase got off to a big start Friday night with many great games. Here are a few of the standouts from a great start to the tournament.

Greg Grays – 2026 – G – D Rice Elite

After going for 32 points in a game last week at the Spring Extravaganza, Grays upped himself going for 35 tonight in a victory. There are few 2026 players around with his scoring package and feel. Grays is a gifted three level scorer with great shot making ability.

Xzavion Mitchell – 2025 – G/F – Team Herro

The very consistent and skilled sophomore just continues to produce at a high level against good competition. He scored 18 points and did so much more in leading Team Herro to an impressive victory. He is such a versatile and impactful wing with his skill set, size, energy, and athleticism.

Thomas Morgan – 2024 – F/C – Recruiting Boost Australia

The Australian big man put in 18 points to start off the tournament in a win. He stands at 6’9” plus has a solid build to be a force down inside. Morgan showed some good strong moves playing with his back to the basket plus soft touch to score on a high percentage of his paint touches. Already an impactful big man on both ends but has even greater upside.

Ross Robertson – 2025 – F – MTXE

It was another outstanding performance for Robertson putting in a dominant performance. The sophomore scored an efficient 27-points in MTXE’s victory. Even up against an opposing big man at 6’9”, it did not stop Robertson from going to work inside scoring at will and aggressively grabbing every rebound nearby. He also greatly impressed off the dribble including a great spin move attacking the basket.

Zander Woodruff – 2024 – G – DV45

In a convincing win for DV45, Woodruff led the way with 27 points including four threes. He has a smooth stroke with good range on his jumper but also scored he very well attacking the basket. He has good handle and while not the biggest of guards, he plays very well through contact fighting his way to the basket and finishing strong.
