While still a few years out from high school, there was plenty of talent amongst the 12U group. In addition to the all-tournament selections, he are several players that stood out and were big for their team.
Brayden Harris – 2029 – PG – Team Ramey
Harris is a skilled point guard on both ends of the floor. He showed a good ability to run the point, score the ball, and defend the ball. He plays with a lot of energy on the defensive side and with his quickness was constantly getting all over the ball. Offensively, he was at his best playing on the attack getting into the paint often with his moves and handle but can also shoot the three.
Christian Hogan – 2029 – G/F – MTXE Premier
The well-rounded wing started the tournament off right with a 15-point effort in a close win in addition to doing a bit of everything for his team. He has an advanced game as not only does he shoot it very well from the outside but handles the ball and can be a primary ball handler, scores it getting to the basket, comes up with steals and deflections, and rebounds the ball very well.
Derez Grider – 2029 – PG – Louisville Legends Branch
Grider is a skilled point guard that was one of the top distributors at the 12U level. He has a great ability to get into the paint so often with his handle and quickness. On the move, he has very good vision reading the court so well. He is always scanning the floor looking to set up his teammates. Defensively, he is very active pressuring the ball making plays on the defensive end.
Zach Newman – 2029 – F/C – NS Ballerz
A tough big man with good combination of size and strength. As well to making plays in the paint on both ends in the paint playing with good energy, Newman showed some emerging skills. The young big man showed a smooth jumper hitting spot up threes as well as good handle and mobility making some plays off the dribble.
Ben Pritzl – 2029 – G/F – Wisconsin Swing
Over the course of multiple games, the young wing impressed with his consistent good play helping the Swing reach the semifinals. Already at a young age, Pritzl shows a good versatile game. He uses all his tools to create mismatches, at times looking like a big man posting up and then at others playing the role of a guard making plays off the dribble out on the perimeter. He plays with plenty of energy and some toughness to be making plenty of plays.
Drew Schnurman – 2029 – G – NS Ballerz
A wing guard with some size that can do a bit of everything on the court. Whether it is attacking the basket, being a versatile defender and forcing turnovers, running the point, being big on the glass, and passing it well. There were not many players at the 12U level that have his diverse skill set making such a big impact.
Bryce Skemp – 2029 – F/C – Foundation Athletics
Skemp is one of the bigger players at the 12U level that is very aggressive and physical playing inside. He is a strong scorer around the basket finishing at a high rate and being able to score posting up as well to being one of the better rebounders going hard for each board. A consistent player that battled on every possession to be so impactful in the paint on both ends.
Elijah Svoboda – 2029 – G/F – Closed Gyms
One of the more versatile players at the 12U level with some size to go along with a nice array of guard skills. Svoboda is a highly active player that battles on the court to make plays. He showed good skills playing with the ball in his hands. A good decision maker with the ball that is a tough attacking downhill driver.
Denym Wallace – 2029 – PF – All In
Already at a young age, Wallace has good size at 6’1” in addition to playing with a big motor. Whether it was running the floor hard, battling on the glass, getting up to grab all boards near him, or fighting for position in the paint, Wallace is always really working on the court. Even with his size, he moves well and has good hands.
