With the grassroots travel season only a couple months away hope springs eternal for prospects looking to make their mark during the crucial travel season where prospects have a chance to compete against the best week after week in various camps and tournaments before wrapping at the end of July in events like The Final Chapter in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Today we look at the NY2LA Sports calendar amongst other things in our news & notes…

RECRUITING UPDATES

2013 PG Matt Thomas of Onalaska (WI) picked up an offer from Creighton over the weekend to add to one from Northern Iowa he already has.  Thomas continues to see his stock soar and you can expect to hear an awful lot about him over the next couple years as he can really go.  Thomas plays with the Wisconsin Playmakers during the grassroots travel season.

2013 SG Nick Fuller of Sun Prairie (WI) added an offer from Creighton as well.  Fuller is one of the top marksmen in the 2013 class nationally and looks primed to see his recruiting stock soar as he’s easily a top 75-100 prospect nationally who brings to mind early comparisons to Virginia bound 2011 SG Paul Jesperson given his size and ability to stroke the long range jumper.  Purdue also checked in on Fuller earlier this week at one of his practices.  He plays with the Wisconsin Swing during the grassroots travel season.

2011 SF Andre Henley of De La Salle (IL) has added an offer from Northern Illinois to his collection.  Henley ranks as one of the top 2011 prospects in the state of Illinois.  He played with the Mac Irvin Fire during the grassroots travel season.

2012 SG Ricardo Ledo of Notre Dame Prep (MD) re-opened his recruitment back up yesterday after previously giving a verbal commitment to Providence.  Ledo is an explosive scoring talent who ranks as one of the best in the 2012 class so you can expect a laundry list of suitors for him as he can really make things happen.

Former McDonald’s All-American Wally Judge is reportedly leaving Kansas State (See story).  Judge is a 6-9 PF who will have two years of eligibility remaining.  Given the lack of interior prospects that existed in the 2011 class, one would expect Judge to garner a lot of interest in the coming weeks.
